Access Control Systems — Paxton Net2 & Paxton10 Specialists

Prism specifies Paxton access control for all new installations — the UK's leading manufacturer, trusted to secure over 30,000 buildings every year. From a single door to a complex multi-site estate, we design, install and support the right system for your site.

Control Who Enters

Intelligent Access Control, Tailored to Your Site

Access control gives you the ability to manage, log and audit exactly who enters which part of your building — and when. Unlike a physical key, access credentials can be issued and revoked instantly.

For all new installations, Prism specifies Paxton Net2 or Paxton10 — the UK’s most widely installed access control platforms, backed by 40 years of British engineering.

Why businesses choose access control:

  • Eliminate the risk of lost or copied keys
  • Issue and revoke credentials instantly
  • Set time-zone access per door and per user
  • Generate full audit trails
  • Integration with HR systems
  • Remote management via web or mobile
  • Integrate with CCTV for event-linked review
  • Reduce insurance premiums with documented access logs

PIN Keypad

Individual or shared PIN codes for door control. Can be combined with fob credentials for two-factor access to high-security areas.

Biometric

Fingerprint or facial recognition for areas requiring the highest level of access security. No credential to carry or forget.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Prism specify Paxton access control?
Paxton is the UK's leading access control manufacturer, with 40 years of experience and systems installed in over 30,000 buildings annually across more than 60 countries. Their Net2 and Paxton10 platforms are licence-free with free software upgrades. As a Paxton Approved Installer, Prism's engineers are fully trained and qualified on both platforms.
What is the difference between Paxton Net2 and Paxton10?
Net2 is the established platform using Windows-based server software, ideal for organisations that want a proven, widely supported networked system. Paxton10 is the newer platform with web-based software requiring no on-site Windows server, built-in CCTV integration and Bluetooth credential support. Our engineers recommend the right platform for your site.
Can Prism support my existing access control system from another brand?
Yes. While Paxton is our specified platform for new installations, our engineers are experienced with Brivo, Avigilon, Johnson Controls (Software House C·CURE, Kantech) and Genetec. If you have an existing system, we can service it, expand it or advise on a migration path.
What is the best access control system for an office?
For most offices, a Paxton Net2 or Paxton10 system with proximity fob or smart card readers is the most practical solution. For higher-security areas, biometric readers add an additional layer of identity verification.
Can access control integrate with CCTV?
Yes. Integrating access control with CCTV allows you to automatically record footage every time a door is accessed, creating a linked audit trail. Paxton10 has built-in camera integration; for Net2 we integrate with Paxton's own camera range as well as third-party systems.
What happens to access control if the power goes out?
All our access control hardware includes battery backup. Door controllers and electronic locks maintain their programmed state (fail-safe or fail-secure), and we advise on the correct fail mode for each door during survey, taking building evacuation requirements into account.
