How does Ajax CCTV integrate with the alarm system?

When an alarm activates, the hub can automatically trigger photo capture and send verified images to the Ajax app and monitoring centre within seconds, known as photo verification. This dramatically reduces false alarm police responses and gives you instant visual confirmation of what triggered the alert.
Do I need separate apps for CCTV and my alarm?
Not with an Ajax system. One of Ajax’s key advantages is that intruder alarms, fire detectors, CCTV cameras and access control all operate through the same Ajax Security app. You arm and disarm your alarm, view live and recorded camera footage, and receive all security notifications in a single place, on iOS or Android.
How long should CCTV footage be retained?
The ICO recommends footage should not be retained longer than necessary. 28 to 31 days is standard and considered proportionate for most commercial and residential applications. Footage relating to an ongoing investigation should be retained until the matter is resolved. Our systems are configured to overwrite automatically after your specified retention period.
Do I need to register my CCTV with the ICO?
If your cameras capture images of people in public areas or of employees, you are likely required to register as a data controller with the ICO and pay the data protection fee. You must also display appropriate signage. We advise on compliant camera placement and signage as part of every installation.
